An ode to gymfood

An ode to gymfood!
And no, I do not mean the gymfood like in eggs, or beef jerky or something like that.
I mean the page gymfood .
I love to work out. A shame I must keep rest for my body and the little baby.
But when the baby arrived I will keep on track again and get my old body back (I'll hope, at least I will try).
But last year I work out like 4,5 times or more a week. I spent a lot of hours in the gym to work on my fysiek. I love to lift weights and get lean.
No, you won't get bulky by lifting weights, you will get lean and toned.
But through all that training I needed more nutrients. And I'll get them by supplements.
I found an amazing page on the internet called: gymfood.
I've asked for information and they respond almost imidiatly. So I've orderd some stuff and the next day I've got everything right at home. With an extra magazine and samples.
You can ask them anything at: twitter , facebook and they've also got instagram .
But they are a lot more than only a page were you can order your Whey eggwhites or your supplements for pre-workout. They will post motivation and fitspiration and great recipe or food tips.
That's what I like about them. And I know for sure if I go work out again I will order my stash by gymfood!!!

I recommend this page to you guys so you can give it a try an order your stuff over there.
Great service, great advice and a lot of motivation!

stuffed apple for breakfast

And once and again it's very cloudy and rainy outside. It looks more like autumn than spring.
I was awake early. My tummy hurts badly and I could not sleep all night, so I wake up at the same time as my hubby. We had coffee together and than he went off to work. I was really hungry so I was thinking what I could eat. It was dark outside and it looks like it's going to rain. And well when I'm writing this it's raining and hard. I've got some apples and I thought let's make a breakfast with apple that is very cozy and warm.
So I've made a stuffed apple. It's very easy but it will take some time before you can eat it.

1 apple
muesli
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp maple syrup
aluminum foil

Preheat the oven on 200degrees. Cut off the top of the apple (but keep it), remove the core and hollow the apple. Keep the apple pieces and crush them.
Mix the apple pieces, cinnamon, maple syrup and muesli together.
Put that in the apple and put the cap back on.
Fold the aluminum foil around the apple and put it in the oven for 20minutes.

This is a nice and cozy breakfast. It's more like a fall breakfast than a spring breakfast but who cares?
It tastes great and it's healthy. Do I need to say more?

You know we've had enough rain when ducks are handing out life-jackets! QUACK!!!

Tag: Work That Es

I saw an amazing tag on my cup of care and she found it on work that es .
And that's also the name of the tag. I think this tag is a great way to tell a little bit of myself.
But this is the English version of it ;).

What sports do you do?
At this very moment none. Because of pregnancy. But normal I swim, fitness and run.
Favorite exercise?
I love to swim. I did it my whole life till I'm 16 or something I've won a lot of competitions. Than I have to quit because of a knee injuri. So I started fitness. And sometimes I run. Depends on how my knee feels. At the gym my favorite exercise are deadlifts.
Breakfast?
That varies from whole grain crackers, oatmeal, fruit smoothies. But I always start my day with coffee and banana soy milk.
Which workout song is now on repeat?
Can't hold me back-Decibel 2012
What do you find easier, healthy eating or exercise?
At the moment healthy eating. But I'm not an angel I have a cheat meal now and then. But normally exercise is a lot easier. Normally I can't sit still. Thats why it is so hard for me to keep rest for this moment. But everything for the little one.

Do you use supplements?
When I work out a lot I do. I've got caseine powder, Whey eggwhites, Amino X, Go pre workout powder. Everything comes from: gymfood

Best fitspiration?
Andreia Brazier. And I follow a lot of fit people on facebook, twitter or instagram.

Cheatmeal?
Like I allready told you. Once in a while ;). I love chips. I can't see a movie without eating them. But I also eat tomatoes or carrots instead.
Finest sports outfit?
Loose Sport shorts or sweatpants, I don't like it when they are tight I feel uncomfortable in it. Sports bra with a tank top.
Do you use sport and / or health apps?
I've only got the app: runkeeper. That saves my route, shows how hard I ran, how many km and my time.
Biggest irritation during exercise?
When my body is to tired to function but my mind is not. People who are stare at you weird (just get a life).
How many pairs of sports shoes do you have?
Only 2. 1 for the gym and 1 for running outside.
Three things you can not live without?
Ow there are to many..... But for 1: my boyfriend (father of my child that I'm carry), My animals (3dogs, 2 cats), My phone, it's the thing that connect me with my best friends and keep in touch with them.  But I can also not live without: friends, my baby in my tummy, and sports.

Pregnancy is about getting connected

It was 3 am in the morning. The wind was sweeping through the house.
I've came out of bed because my best friend the toilet calls me. And not that I must pee again, I felt very nauseous. Sow I've walked down stairs like a ghost and embraced the toilet. I felt awful and the bleak wind that was blowing made things worse. When I walked to bed again and see the curtains blowing in the wind, I felt like I was playing in a horror movie. So I lay down in bed trying to get some sleep. But instead that I could sleep I was thinking, about my blog and stuff like that.
It's not that I have a lot of followers, maybe they come or maybe they don't. But it's a great time killer for me because I'm all alone at home all day.Yesterday I went to the company doctor and he advised me to listen to my body and not go to work. Pretty lame but everything for the little baby.
So I can blog all my frustrations out, find new recipe and try them and post them.
So I'm connected with blogging.

I'm also connected with my little baby in my tummy. We share the same blood and we are stuck together. The little baby knows, hears and feels everything what I feel. This little stranger knows everything about me. Yeah we are connected.

As I write this, it is very cold and windy outside. Like it was 3am in the morning. It's dark in the house and the curtains move back along by the wind. I'm all alone with my 3 dogs and 2 cats who are sleeping. I feel  and walk around like a ghost feeling nauseous again. And my horror movie starts all over again haha.

The only thing I hear is the vibration of my phone and the wind that blows so hard.
It's a friend of mine. I knew her a little longer but I have not spoken to her for a long time.
We've got in touch when we saw on facebook that we were pregnant. Long live facebook! But she is not the only one with I have contact because I'm pregnant. There are more pregnant old friends or schoolmates that now suddenly are talking to me. And I must say it is pretty handy and nice to have those.
As much as I love my best friends, they're just not been pregnant. And how much they support me it's nice to have my new friends who are in the same situation. We give eachother advise and support eachother. You are never alone!

Pregnancy is about getting connected. Not only with your litlle baby inside of you. But you make new friends who are pregnant. This can be caused by pregnancy yoga or through social media. Maybe you're a member of pregnancy forums and you will find your soul mate over there.
It's easy to talk to a fellow pregnant woman.

But the most important thing: don't forget your old friends. They might not be pregnant, but they want to be there for you.

So now it's time to send my best friend a text, maybe she can hang out soon!

Bubur Ketan Hitam

I want to bring you back to my roots: Indonesia.
Well I want to bring a little bit of it back. This recipe is not the original Indonesia recipe.
Because I can't eat right (everything comes back out again) I want to try if this will stay in. An healthy Indonesia breakfast or lunch. Bubur Ketan Hitam or also known as Black Rice Pudding.
In the original recipe you'll need: pandan leaves and palm sugar. But we've don't got that over here (the little town where I live) so I've made an easy version of it.

You'll need:
200 gram Black rice
1 can coconut milk
1/2 cup of water
little bit of seasalt
1 tbsp maple syrup
2 tbsp coconut flakes

Cook the rice with the water and the salt and maple syrup for 45 minutes.
Stir frequently, until the rice is tender and most of the liquid has absorbed.
Add the coconut milk to the rice and boil it a little.
Put the pudding in an bowl mix it with coconut flakes and it is ready.
You can top it of with some fruit you like. I top it of with some passion fruit.

Are you pregnant? Noooo you are joking right?

I could not make this article without the help of the lovely page: Mommy & Mommy To Be
All the baby bumps you will see on this blog came from the great community Mommy and Mommy to be. I want to thank everybody who want to work with this article, I could not make it with all those lovely and beautifull mommy and mommy to be's! So if you are interested in babies or toddlers? Are you working on getting pregnant, you are pregnant, or you are a mommy? Then this is THE place to come together!

"Are you pregnant? No you are joking right?" This is a question I get a lot.
At the very beginning I was ok with that. I thought wel my babybump will show when I'm at week 20 or something. But still people are looking weird at me if I say that I'm pregnant. Some people just don't see it or some people think that I'm only 10 weeks or something.
When I was laying in the hospital I was 25 weeks and even over there people where suprised that my bump was so tiny.
They have an explanation for it so I was ok with it.
But seeing other people showing there bump with pride sometimes feels uncomfortable. You just wondering if: everyting is ok with the baby, does it grow ok, does that explain all my pains, am I the only one with this tiny bump.

All those questions where running into my mind. And searching pictures of woman who are at the same week as I am does not work, the most of them have a beautifull babybump.
My midwife told me that I must be happy with such a tiny bump because after gaving birth my stomach will be sooner the way it was before pregnancy.
Ofcourse I'm happy with that.
But everytime people look weird or asking how far I am and they don't believe me that I'm over the 20weeks I must defent myself (well that's how it feels).
I've got a dog and his trunk is the same size as the baby that grows in me. And well that's sometimes weird, I wonder how can this fit in my little tiny bump?
But after some research I saw that I was not alone (thank God for that).Ofcourse I know that I'm not alone, but all those questions from other people or comments of people: "Your bump is so tiny", "I could not believe you are 27weeks." "Are you sure you are pregnant?" "You just can't see a thing that you are pregnant!" makes me feels sometimes insecure.
And well there is nothing to be insecure about. Every bump is different and every woman is different.
There are several factors related to the growth of your bump. And well let me explain to you what the factors are.

Due to the growth of your child, the extent of your abdomen during pregnancy increases greatly. But not only your baby creates a bigger belly, also include the amniotic fluid and more fat storage ensure that you soon will not fit your normal clothing.
When your belly increases considerably in size varies per person. For one the belly size will increase harder during pregnancy then to another. And if you are skinny by yourself you will see it faster than another.
For yourself you will notice it around 11 weeks.
Chances are that you already do not fit your normal trousers. If you wear loose clothing you can maybe hide your pregnancy for the outside world. But from week 18 it will be difficult.
You can gain a kilo per week.
You may gain 12 kilos during your pregnancy.
And that is because:
*3300 gram baby
*Uterus 900 grams
*Placenta 650 grams
*Amniotic fluid 800 grams
*Fat across the body 3500 grams.
More blood to exchange of substances with the placenta to store moisture and an enlargement of the breasts and mammary glands provide for a further increase in weight of about 4.5 kg.

If the mother has a naturally fat around the waist, it will be less visible than a woman with a naturally slender physique with a slim waist.
Also, is it depends on how active or nervous they are in life. Stress namely also consumes calories and lots of activity burns calories also.

Very athletic women often have less big baby bump, the abdominal muscles do not really stretch. Among women who had only big belly, you often see a little that they are pregnant. Tall women are generally have less big bumps than very small, simply because there is more space "in height.

Also the location of the baby may be a factor. So on one day you bump looks different than the other day because your baby lay into another position.

So there are many factors why we all have different belly's!
Everybody is different and have a different body.

So it can all lie on:
- Construction
- Strength of the abdominal muscles
- Size of the child
- Amount of amniotic fluid
- Possible increase in body fat during pregnancy.
- Weight and Build of the mother

So don't judge a mommy to be by her bump!

Here will follow more baby bumps from beautifull woman!

for once and for all let me make this clear!

Wow what a responds I've got when I liked Jwoww her status on facebook while she said: "How can people enjoy this shit?" "Pregnancy and I don't mix" A lot of reactions I've got from friends and family: what was wrong with me and that I must be happy having a baby because some people just can't. Well let me make things clear: Ofcourse I'm happy having a baby. No I'm not regret it that I am pregnant. Ofcourse there are people who can't get pregnant and will. And ofcourse I really want that they can be pregnant also. But can I enjoy this? Well sometimes, but sometimes don't. And I think all pregnant woman think about this. And I also think that every woman is different and experience things differently. So what one can enjoy does not mean that I can enjoy it. Normally I'm a very busy girl. I love to go to work, hang out with my friends and my hubby, make long walks with the dogs, I love to work out, I love food! If you say to me: you need some rest and can go to work and must stay at home. Well then there will something explode in my head and makes me go crazy. My life was a really rollercoaster with a lots of ups and downs. More downs then ups. So I was really hoping that for once this can be good and I can enjoy it and that everything goes normal. Well it does not. Maybe one person can handle this, but I can't. So simple is that. My life was a pretty mess and for once everything goes fine and I really want to enjoy this. But being sick, getting rest does not work well for me. Ofcours I'm happy that the baby is ok, but my mind is going insane. Maybe it's the hormones, maybe it's just me being negative again. But I will be glad that or: I can work again (maybe for a couple of hours) or that it will be Juli soon and I can get my baby in to my arms. So there is nothing that I mean that I don't wanted this baby, or that I'm not ready for it... It is an accumulation of many things, mostly my past. I want to look in to the future but sometimes you just can't. And really: It's not that I always feel down with it, I have my moments. And this week it's one of them. And I won't feel good if people say: "But it's for a good cause." I know what I'm doing it for and people don't have to say that every time when I feel crap. I know it could be more worse then this. But like I said there are more things in my mind then only how I feel right now. I hope now you can a little bit understand me and why I'm feeling it this way. I've read an article also yesterday on Pregnancy Corner. And I really liked also what it said. A good text to close this blog for today! "As I was laying in my bed last night, not being able to sleep thanks to stomach aches, extreme back pain and the baby having a party in my tummy I remember something I said to my sister while she was pregnant. I said to her "you are not sick, you are just pregnant!" At that time I was ignorant and couldn't understand what she was going through. Growing a baby is not an easy process. You experience numerous physical and emotional changes. Not only do you have to deal with nausea, constipation, headaches, tiredness, back pains, nose bleeds, weight gain, your body changes, not being able to eat or drink certain things, but also hormonal changes. We also experience feelings of fear, insecurities, depression and the constant worry of thinking if everything will be okay. So if one of your relatives, spouse, friend is pregnant make sure to express to her that you care. Ask her how she's feeling, give her a compliment, tell her she looks beautiful, invite her to eat, ask her if you can help with anything, show her that you love her. She will really appreciate it, now more than ever!"
