Sometimes people ask me if I don't regret my tattoos now because I'm a mom.
And well tomorrow I will get another tattoo for my sweet baby girl so I thought it would be time to tell something about it.
That you have tattoos does not mean you are a lousy parent. Don't judge a book by his cover!
I love everything what I've added on my body, for me it has a meaning.
It's a story of my live how I lived my life what I think.
But from the tattoos I've get I get equally as many smiles and conversations with people I may not otherwise spoken to. And those seemling rude stares are often just coming from a place of admiration or curiosity. But I don't care, stare if you like, whisper to your friend.
And I think my tats or not that bad. I can hide them if I really want.
If you decide to get a tattoo in a visibale place, people will look and people will judge.
Society don't accept 100% tattooed people.
And tattooed moms? It's a bad example for your kids... I think that's bullshit!
It's not how you look like or how many tattoos you've got, it's how you raise your children and your beauty from within.
Ofcourse you can think about it what will happen to your career if I place a tattoo on a visible place.
If you're lucky you get a job where they are open minded.
Sometimes I think it's weird that tattoos are still not done on a work place.
Everyboy now a days have tattoos.
But that's my opinion.
What do you think to get tatoos? And moms with tats: done or not done?
Actress Allysa Milano had her baby girl Elizabella Dylan Bulgari last September. She's very proud of her baby girl and posted a phote of her breastfeeding her on instagram.
Bur the pictures of Kim Kardashians naked body "break the internet" are also a big hit on the internet.
Milano noted that she wears a shirt on her selfie and she gets a ton of backlash while critics seems fine by Kim's oily naked booty.
She tweeted:
I think it's weird that when people put a naked "sexy" photo of them selfs on the internet is all ok. And while you are breastfeeding your baby. What is the most natural and beautifull thing there is is all bad and should not be shown on the internet.
No offence about Kim's picture but if that's beautifull so is breastfeeding your own child.
What do you think?
Can you show breastfeeding pictures on the internet or is it a no go?
Time to put our shoe in front of the chimney and get some presents, well only if you are good.
Or else you go in the bag and go to Spain to help the Saint for next year.
Well I don't know if that's bad. It's raining here and maybe there is it all sunny.
But back to basic. Since August the first gingerbread cubes, spice nuts, ginger nuts or what ever you will call our Dutch Saint Nicolas sweet treat are in the store. I love those treats a lot but it's not that healthy.
I've made specially for this Holiday a healthy ginger, spice nut cookie.
You can eat a lot more of these then of the store version.
But eat it in moderation.
This is also a fun recipe to make with your kids!
This recipe is lactose free, there are no refined sugars and no wheat.
Enjoy!!!
What you need:
120 gram spelled flour
80 gram almond flour
60 gram coconut blossom sugar
5tbsp gingerbread spice
5tbsp liquid coconut oil
2tbsp soy milk
1/4 tsp salt
5drops vanilla extract
Preheat the oven on 180degrees.
Mix both the flour, coconut blossom sugar and spice and salt together.
Add the coconut oil and vanilla extract to it and mix again.
At last add the milk to it and knead it into a ball.
Make small balls out of it and flat it a little.
Put this on a ovenplate.
Put this in the oven for about 20minutes till they are nice and brown.
They will be a little bit soft when they come out of the oven but if you let them cool down a bit they will get hard.
I feel misserable, tired, pain everywhere and the coughing damn I sound like a seal.
But when I'm sick I love to eat soup.
Well it's the only thing I eat then.
Full with veggies and some spice.

Falafel is a traditionally Arab food. The word falafel may descend from the Arabic word falafil, a plural of the word Filfil, meaning "pepper."
When falafel is made the traditional way, is indeed a vegan food; it's a great source of protein for people who have cut meat out of Their diet. It's Relatively low in fat and has no cholesterol if you fry it in heart-healthy grapeseed oil. And if you top it with veggies in a pita, it Becomes a filling and nourishing meal! Sure beats a Big Mac, if you ask me.
You will need to soak dried chickpeas overnight for your falafel to turn out right; canned beans are too tender and containerization too much moisture to Achieve the right consistency. Do not cook the beans, Because this will result in a denser mushier and falafel-which is not the clean texture.
1 pound (about 2 cups) dry chick peas
1 small onion, chopped Roughly
1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
3-5 cloves garlic
1 1/2 tbsp flour
1 3/4 tsp salt
2 tsp cumin
1 tsp ground coriander
1/4 tsp black pepper
1/4 tsp cayenne pepper
Pinch of ground cardamom
Coconut oil for frying
Pour the chickpeas into a large bowl and cover them by about 3 inches of cold water. Let them soak overnight. They will double in size as they soak.
Pour them into your food processor along with the chopped onion, garlic cloves, parsley, flour, salt, cumin, ground coriander, black pepper, cayenne pepper, and cardamom.
Pulse all ingredients together Until a rough, coarse meal forms. Scrape the sides of the processor Periodically and push the mixture down the sides. Process till the mixture is somewhere entre the texture of couscous and a paste. You want the mixture to hold together, and a more paste-like consistency will help with that.
Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1-2 hours.
Form falafel mixture into round balls.
Before frying my first batch of falafel, I like to fry a test one in the center of the pan. If the oil is at the right temperature, it will take 2-3 minutes per side to brown (5-6 minutes total). If it browns faster than that, your oil is too hot and your falafels will not be fully cooked in the center. Cool the oil down slightly and try again. When the oil is at the right temperature, fry the falafels in batches of 5-6 at a time till golden brown on bothsides.
Let them drain on paper towels. Serve the falafels fresh and hot.
I heard of some superstition where you look at a mirror and say "Bloody Mary" 3 times; wouldn't you get better results to say it while looking at a bartender?
Booohooooo it's almost halloween. Just 1day to go abd then it's Time to get some candy and eat it all till my teeth fall out!
I'm joking.
Yesterday I've posted my zombie brain drink and now it's time for another halloween recipe.
You can make non candy snacks to eat or give away this halloween.
Here's one!
And this one is very easy!
Freaky Hot Dog Fingers
Cut hot dogs in half, width wise and then length wise into quarters. Open a package of crescent roll dough and roll Until very thin. Cut the dough into strips and wrap around each piece of hot dog, leaving a little bit of the tip uncovered. Bake as directed.
It's almost halloween. My favourite holiday of the year!
I want to post a halloween recipe till Friday Halloween day!
So today is my first one but it's not for pregnant woman!
It contains alcohol!!!
So be warned!
If a zombie walked into a bar he would order a brain hemmorhage! He might also eat the bartenders actual brain.
I prefer to think of it as a Zombie Brain Hemorrhage simply because it looks like what I imagine zombie brains would look like: very, very gross. The drink also feels weird in your mouth.
But it taste very damn good! I saw this recipe on tipsy bartenders youtube page. And now it's time to try this out for myself.
Ingredients 1 1/2 oz. Peach Schnapps 1/2 oz. Bailey’s Irish Cream Grenadine
Pour the peach schnapps into a shot glass. Over the back of a spoon, layer the Bailey’s Irish Cream. Hold the bottle of grenadine about 2 inches over the shot glass and slowly pour it in a thin stream. The Bailey’s will curdle and form “brains”.
Grenadine contains citric acid and that curdles the cream and creates the look of brains.
Maybe you know the tv show Utopia where 15different people get locked up in a place where they must make a new better living together.
For 1year they must stay there without their family and friends. You only can write to eachother.
They must make money, work a lot and figure out what's the best Utopia for them.
Utopia: An imagined place where everything is good and beautiful.
Utopia: Nowhere Land
At first I thought it was crap. My hubby liked the show and I hated it. A group of people in a place and they've got money to start sonething up. I thought it was stupid that they get money allready.
During pregnancy we did not follow it any more till a couple off weeks ago.
It's a show with a lot of drama you can reconize with your own life.
Living for the money, talking behind peoples backs etc.
So I follow the show as a treu fan.
A lot of people in it I like and I think they're great. And others I think they're stupid, lazy and stubborn.
So I admit the show is a succes!
But how they live is not a way how I want to live.
My Utopia is with my daughter, family and friends, with my lovely animals. A big farm with peace for animals and the other living.
Hard work is a must but we respect eachother for who they are and not about the money. No talking behind the backs but just be honest to eachother. Love and Peace for everyone.
My own gym so people can workout.
Lots of friends for my baby girl so she can play with them.
I saw this great tag at: dhini and I really wanted to copy this one.
Only I translate it to English ;).

My little girls sleep in her stroller in our bedroom. This was the advice of our maternity care because I breastfeed her and we did not have a crib at our room. My baby girl laughs at me. That's just so cute!!!

A brand or store brand?

No when I was younger I did not want kids. I did not saw myself as a great mom. I've got a bad example for being a mother.
But when I was older I want children 2 before I became 30.
I'll always so now: I know how to not to do it.
What is the best thing about motherhood?
Creating a miracle. Enjoying everything of it!
Here in Holland we've got a holliday called: Sinterklaas (Nicholas). It's almost the same then Santa Claus. He rides on a white horse over the rooftops with an entourage of cheerful black Piets (zwarte pieten) his helpers. Every 5th of December he gaves children presents for everybody who was good that year. The black Piets go through the chimney to place the present in every kids shoe. Here in Holland we've got an extreme disccussion about the Black Piets the helpers of Nicholas. They would be racist because they are black and it would come off the slave trade of the past. But we celebrate it this way for years. And even in Belgium they do not make such a big point of it. I can not imaging that the helpers will get another colour. If they are white I would feel discriminated, if they are yellow the Chinese people will come that it's a bad thing. And what would you tell to the children who know that the helpers are black? They are black because of the chimney. Black as soot we would say.
But where does the helpers come from really?
Nicholas initially had no helper, but in 1850 Schenkman introduced in his book St. Nicholas and Helper three new cases, all of which have been in a permanent place in the "Sinterklaas"Nicholas folklore: a helper for Nicholas, the arrival and the steamboat. The helper had in his book no name, he was a colored man, dressed as a page. In the course of time he has had several names; For example, he was called John the servant Trappadoeli, Nicodemus, Assiepan, Sabbas, Hans Moef, Pikkie, Robbert, Jack-crack, Micheltje Hansel of Vese (or Hansel from Kese), Jacques Jour (or Sjaak Sjoor).
In 1859 was for the first a printed article in which he is called: Pieter and in 1895 Black Piet was already come into use. It was not just one black Piet, in 1880 there where two helpers. After the Second World War, Canadian soldiers in the Netherlands organized a Nicholas celebration with a mass of Black Piets. Since then Nicholas accompanied by many helpers, nowadays often each one have their own task, led by a host Piet. While Nicholas is always dignified and distinguished, the Piets behave like acrobats and clowns who often make boyish pranks.
There a couple of stories where the Black Piet has his origin from:
- was originally a chimney sweep, and the soot blackened
- would originally have been a demon who was forced by the sacred to do good deeds.
- would an Ethiopian black slave Piter who was ransomed by St. Nicholas in a slave market in Myra
- would be a pre-Christian deity who had to submit to the Christian saint
- would be conquered Satan, deputy to the vanquished Wotan, or his helper Norvi, the black father of the night, who also wore a roe
- be descended from the black ravens Huginn and Muninn, Odin accompanied
- be descended from berserkers, which the body dyed black and wore animal skins
I think he must stay. He's been here with his black colour for years.
It was a nice and warm Sunday. 23degrees for in October , sun was shining and I've got a day off.
After some grocery shopping we've decided to go to the beach with our baby girl.
We've packed our jackets some baby stuff and 1dog (Baco) goes with us.
It would be 3 quarters driving. But with some diversions it take a little bit longer! After more then an hour we've arrived at Grevelingenmeer.
I had a baby carrier for our little girl. We saw some kitesurfers it looks amazing.
But it was pretty windy and our baby girl starts crying when the wind blew in her face. So we walked out of the wind. But that was hard and everytime the wind blew in her face she cries and did not breath. It was so sad to see that, so we look for a place to drink something.
But we've forgot we've got baco with us haha he was so quiet this time. So we could not drink in a restaurant. We drove past a pavilion but you must get a parking ticket to stand there. What a bummer.
So we went back home.
Only walked for 15minutes but we had a fun 15 minutes walk. Only so sad for our baby girl that she did not like it. Maybe if she's a little bit older.
Some parents just can have 1 kid or they just want one kid.
And there will always be some people who makes "jokes"about it that you have 1 kid.
In the past when you were an only child you were often labeled as spoiled or not social.
Now these days we will not hear the things you could have said in the past.
Some people just don't want to have another child, or they could not have another one. So before you will hurt someones feelings read this.
And just don't say those things like:
"Our first child was living completely when he heard that she had a brother or sister."
But why is he so jealous at his birthday?
"Would it be nice to have a little brother or sister for him?"
Just don't you don't know if he will be happy with it.
"And? When comes the second one?"
Second one? I never have thought about it. I just don't want to think about it.
"So let's say, nice and quiet!"
Well with three kids it is pretty busy. But my kid counts for three!
"Don't he feel alone?"
No, he plays with his friends a lot and he can't be bullied by his younger sister.
"With one kid you are pretty flexible?"
And you just don't know that before?
"Look at you, you've got your old figure back. With a second one it will be different"
What do we hear? complain? I know mothers with 3 children with a nice fit body. So off you go to the gym!
"Aaaaah, a second one is so fun!"
I know it is, but whe aren't blessed like you guys!
You just can't look in someones agenda if they are planning to have another one. More parents thinks that one child will be enough these days. Let everyone in its value and enjoy his life.
I really want 2kids. I hope we are blessed to have another one one day. But first I will enjoy my little baby girl. 16weeks allready today!
It's one week ago that I have started working again after 7months.
And well I must say it's complicated.
Early mornings late back at home.Bring my daughter to the daycare.
A whole day long without my baby girl.
It's so different to go back to work again.
New colleagues, grumpy costumers. Well I can spent my time different.
I'm lucky to have nice colleagues. And the rest will come.
I must get used to it and it takes some time.
I work 32 hours a week.
"How many?"Yes 32 hours. I know what you're thinking it's a lot. But I love to work and if I can't handle it I can always switch back to less hours.
But that does not mean that I don't miss my baby girl.
I miss her a lot, but getting back home is so much more fun now. When you see her and she smiles at you, just so cute!
Because I am breastfeeding, I have a right to have some time for some pumping.
I was nervous first. Because at home when I pump some it goes easly, but my baby girl was near me.
Now I was at work in a kitchen where you can sit private.
But I have read that with some "baby porn" (pictures and films of your baby) it would work.
And well let me say it works perfect!
I have some storage at home for daycare and for her grandparents.
I've only called the daycare 2 times. I was proud of myself.
And I've heard that she is such a cheerfull girl. She laughs all the time and plays a lot.
Tomorrow another day at work, a new day a new start.
Stamps are made of mashed potato and it's a Holland kind of thing.
Specially kale stamp. Hmm I love it.
Now it's time to make beetroot stamp.
What you need:
1 ½ kg floury potatoes
50g butter
300g smoked bacon
1 onion
500g cooked beetroot
1 apple
Peel the potatoes and cut into equal pieces. Boil in salted water for 20 minutes.
Meanwhile, heat 25g butter in a frying pan and fry the bacon for 6 min. till they are crispy. Cut the onion into half rings. Add the onion to the bacon and bake for 1 min.
Peel the beetroot and cut into cubes. Add the beets and bake for 4 minutes.
Remove the core from the apple and cut the apple into pieces.
Add them to the beet mixture.
Drain the potatoes and catch some cooking liquid. Mash the potatoes with the remaining butter and the broth with potato masher until you've got a smooth puree.
